Unable to Start Apache after SSL installation

Summary:

 

When trying to start the Apache Webserver from the FileCloud Control Panel after SSL installation or installing an updated SSL, the error "System Exception: service failed to start within a reasonable time: Apache 2.4" will appear.

 

Question/Issue Description:

 

  "Unable to start the Apache web server."

 

Environment Details:

  • Product - Filecloud Server
  • Version - Any
  • Platform - OnPremise

Error/Log Message:

 

Getting the below error message when enabling apache webserver:

 

           

 

Resolution/Workaround:

  1. Ensure no other programs run on port 80 or port 443. This can be found from Windows Resource monitor.
  2. Check the Apache Error logs located at xampp\apache\logs\error.log for any errors
  3. If the error logs show the following errors:
    [Wed Feb 28 15:27:25.830766 2024] [ssl:emerg] [pid 27300:tid 348] AH02565: Certificate and private key www.example.com:443:0 from C:/xampp/apache/conf/ssl.crt/server.crt and C:/xampp/apache/conf/ssl.key/server.key do not match
    AH00016: Configuration Failed
  4. Have the SSL regenerated by following the SSL installation documentation or use the correct SSL key file for SSL installation.
