Original Question/Issue:

 

Cannot open or extract downloaded Zip files from FileCloud User Interface on MacOS

 

Environment:

  • Product - FileCloud
  • Version - 23.232.1
  • Platform - ALL
  • Application - Zip feature on MacOS

Steps to Reproduce:

 

Download files/folder as a zip from FileCloud User Interface on MacOS

 

Error/Log Message:

 

Cannot open file <name>. It does not appear to be a valid archive.

 

Cause:

 

Bug

 

Resolution/Workaround:

Apply attached the hotfix to your current FileCloud deployment by following the below instructions:

  • Take a backup of the files:

    Windows > C:\xampp\htdocs\src\Core\Infrastructure\Storage\PathEngine\StoragePathEngine.php
                     > C:\xampp\htdocs\app\backupserver\backupstoragewrapper.class.php

    Linux > /var/www/html/src/Core/Infrastructure/Storage/PathEngine/StoragePathEngine.php
               > /var/www/html/app/backupserver/backupstoragewrapper.class.php

  • Copy over the previous path the attached patched files
  • Ensure that Apache user has full control over the new files
  • Apply the above steps for each FileCloud web node
  • Test downloading zip files from FileCloud User Interface

Notes:

Please note the issue was identified as a bug and our Development Team will fix it in the future FileCloud release 23.241. The release notes will list the fix as CL-14451.
