Original Question or Issue: |
Reshares (shares created from a shared folder) that users create under a shared team folder suddenly just disappeared, and there is no trace in the audit logs of the shares getting deleted. |

There is an underlying issue, and that is that the action of deleting the shares is not logged in the audit logs. Bug Ticket: FCL 2283 However, you might be able to see an instance of the share permission being modified in the audit logs (in the case below, in the Audit CSV file). The highlighted permissions above are missing the Re-Share, but the entries before and after it show the Re-Share. This suggests that the share permission was modified. Its important to take note of the timestamp as the three actions above happened within a second. |
Cause: | This can happen if the shares created by a user are a reshare. For example, the share was created from within a shared team folder. Anytime the SHARE permission is unchecked by accident or intentionally, or if the user or group is removed from the share, all shares created by the user in the same parent folder will be removed. |
